This image is from around 8 pm on 23 Feb 2017, as comet 41P moved through the constellation of Leo, with a brightness of about magnitude 10. Seen through the comet is distant galaxy PGC 27536. How distant? I can't say, since the NED database doesn't have any distance information for it. The medium-sized galaxy at the lower left of the image is NGC 2927 (350 MLy away). At the upper left of the image is a diagonal grouping of three galaxies. From upper left to lower right they are NGC 2929, NGC 2930, and NGC 2931, all at about the same distance as NGC 2927.
