The Dumbbell Nebula (M27) is a bright and famous planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. Like the Ring Nebula (also in this gallery) it has a dimmer outer "shell" outside the bright inner core. In order to capture this faint outer shell, narrowband H-alpha and O-III data were combined with RGB exposures. This images used 5:3:2 hours of Ha:OIII:RGB data for a total of 10 hours of exposure.
