IC 405 is located in the constellation Auriga just 1.5 degrees from IC 410 (The Tadpoles). It is an emission nebula that is energized by the magnitude-6 star AE Auriga (just to the right of center in the image). This is a 5-hour narrowband image with 3:1:1 hours of H:O:S exposures. Compared to other emission nebulas the O-III area, represented as blue in the photo, is fairly small and weak.
