This unusual scene is located in Orion about midway between Lower's Nebula and the Monkey Head Nebula. The largest round nebula, at the right, is Sharpless 254. To its lower left the two largest nebulae are Sharpless 257 (the one on the right) and Sharpless 255 (= IC 2162) with a bluish center. To the lower right of 257 is an even smaller irregular patch called Sharpless 256. Completing the set of five Sharplesses is the dim patch to the lower left of 255, which is Sharpless 258. This is a 10-hour exposure using narrowband (H,O,S) filters.
