This is the eastern portion of the Veil Nebula (see two previous images for other sections). It is slightly larger than the Western Veil and a two-panel mosaic was needed to capture it all. The Eastern Veil has three NGC/IC designations: IC 1340 for the leftmost section, NGC 6995 for the part just to the left of center, and NGC 6992 for the rest.

This is a bicolor narrowband image with H-alpha assigned to red, Oxygen-III assigned to blue and green, and separate RGB exposures for the stars.
